Collection: Jíbaras

Why Jíbaras?

In search of a piece that identifies us as Puerto Ricans in an abstract way, I found the "Jíbaras". They represent our roots, our three cultures in one. They are a small detail of daily use that reminds us who we are and where we came from.

Inspired by the sugar cane that our "Jíbaros" worked so hard.

The "stick" (long part hammered), represents the sugar cane. The wire wrapped around it, represents the "Bagazo". Threads that remain after processing the sugar cane to get the "Guarapo" (the sugar juice).
